We are a comprehensive real estate website. You can post and search for a property,
locate an agent, mortgage broker, contractor and retail resource.
Overview
When Stuart and I started the search for our first home it was time consuming and
quite daunting. Stuart is a real estate agent and he would check the multiple list
service in Maryland for homes that we would go to see. I would take off of work
and check out the homes in the areas we were considering. There always seemed to
be signs of homes that were for sale by owners (agents call them FSBO’s). I would
get frustrated because I would have preferred to see them at the same time I was
viewing the other homes, but since they were not in the MLS we didn’t know about
them. Then we would call the FSBO’s to set up a meeting to see their homes as well.
I started to wonder why??? Why isn’t there a website to view all homes for sale?
Why not decrease my stress and improve my time management and see all the homes
whether listed by an agent, owner, auction company or builder. This led to many
discussions and we started thinking about what would be on an ideal real estate
website.
We found our home, it was a for sale by owner we heard about thru an agent that
Stuart worked with from a friend of theirs…long story made short. Once we moved
in, we needed to repair, replace, redecorate and remodel. We then started to search
for specific contractors from different sites, some of which required us to give
out our information (which I don’t like to do), and it became another daunting task.
As if moving isn’t stressful enough, now finding contractors was the next step.
We eventually found everyone we needed to work on our house and completed most of
what we wanted to do to date. Of course the story doesn’t stop here.
After a couple of months the dryer broke and the air conditioner stopped working.
Of course the previous owner had given us some warranty information, but we couldn’t
remember where we had placed it. After searching and searching we replaced the dryer
and hired a new company to repair our air conditioner. This led us to create the
“my relify” section. We wanted one place to input our home’s information that we
could easily access from any computer, now we have it. I know what paint colors
we used, where we purchased new appliances and when the warranty expires as well
as serial numbers.
I am sharing my real estate experience with you because I know this is all too common
and I want you to know that we are regular people that wanted to decrease the stress
of buying, selling and maintaining our house as well as yours. I hope that you enjoy
